Remote Work Allowance Policy¶
This procedure is provided for guidance only. It does not form part of any employee's contract of employment and may be amended or withdrawn by FooEngine Limited at any time.
FooEngine operates as a remote-first company. To support home working, employees receive a fixed Working From Home allowance, paid as part of salary, as set out in individual employment contracts.
This allowance is intended to contribute toward general home-working costs such as broadband, utilities and incidental home office expenses.
Working From Home Allowance¶
- The Working From Home allowance is paid automatically through payroll.
- It replaces reimbursement of routine home-working costs.
- No separate expense claims are permitted for normal home-working overheads.
What is Not Reimbursed¶
The following costs are not reimbursed, as they are covered by the salary-based allowance or considered personal expenses:
- Coffee, tea or drinks when working from home or cafés
- Meals or snacks while working remotely
- Routine co-working desk fees chosen for personal preference
- Everyday commuting or local travel to optional work locations
Guiding Principle¶
Routine home-working costs are covered through salary.
Only exceptional, pre-agreed business expenses are reimbursable.
When in doubt, employees should check with their line manager before incurring costs.
Exceptional Work Expenses¶
Where the Company requires or agrees that an employee works from a specific external location (for example client visits, team meet-ups or agreed co-working sessions), reasonable travel or accommodation costs may be reimbursed in line with the Expense Requests & Approvals Policy.
Such arrangements must be agreed with a line manager in advance.
Home Working Equipment¶
Equipment required to perform your role (for example laptop, monitor or other IT equipment) will be provided or purchased by the Company in line with the Expense Requests & Approvals Policy.
