Leavers Policy

When an employee leaves FooEngine, we want the process to be clear, fair and smooth for everyone involved. This policy explains notice requirements, final pay, equipment return and exit arrangements.

Resignation Notification

If you decide to leave FooEngine, you must give written notice by email or letter to:

  • Your line manager
  • A company director

Verbal notice is not sufficient. We will acknowledge receipt of your resignation and confirm your notice period and leaving date in writing.

If FooEngine terminates your employment, you will receive written notice in accordance with your contract and UK employment law.

Notice Period

Your notice period is as stated in your contract of employment. For most employees this is 30 days during the first two years of service, increasing in line with statutory requirements thereafter. Where not otherwise specified, the standard notice period is:

  • 30 days during the first two years of service
  • One additional week per year of service beyond two years

We may:

  • Agree a shorter notice period by mutual consent
  • Pay salary in lieu of notice where appropriate

If you leave without working your full notice period and without agreement, we reserve the right to deduct pay in lieu of unworked notice from your final salary, where legally permitted.

Holiday Entitlement on Leaving

You will be paid for any accrued but untaken holiday up to your termination date.

Holiday records will be calculated by management based on Sense HR records and your termination date.

Confidentiality and Company Data

Your confidentiality obligations in your employment contract continue after you leave FooEngine. You must not retain, copy or disclose company or client data after termination of employment. Before your final day:

  • All company data must be deleted from personal devices
  • Access to company systems will be removed
  • Company accounts will be closed

Company Equipment

Any equipment purchased by FooEngine remains company property unless otherwise agreed.

Before or on your final day:

  • You may be asked to return company equipment
  • Or, in some cases, offered the option to purchase equipment at depreciated value
  • All company devices will be remotely wiped via the MDM.

The approach taken will depend on factors such as:

  • Length of service
  • Age of equipment
  • Reason for leaving

Failure to return equipment when requested may result in deductions from final pay where legally permitted.

Exit Discussion

Where possible, we may offer an exit discussion before your departure. This is voluntary but provides an opportunity to:

  • Share feedback
  • Discuss your experience at FooEngine
  • Suggest improvements

Final Pay

Your final salary payment will include:

  • Salary up to your final day
  • Payment for unused holiday
  • Approved outstanding expenses

Final pay will be made at the normal payroll date following your leaving date.
