Grievance Procedure¶
FooEngine aims to provide a positive, respectful and fair working environment. However, if you have a concern or complaint about your work, working conditions, or treatment at work, this procedure explains how to raise it.
Most issues can be resolved informally through discussion with your line manager. Where this is not possible or appropriate, the formal procedure below applies.
This procedure applies to all employees. It does not apply to ad-hoc freelancers or external suppliers.
Step 1 – Raising a Written Grievance¶
If an issue cannot be resolved informally, you should submit your grievance in writing to your line manager.
If your grievance concerns your line manager, you may submit it to a company director.
Your written grievance should include:
- The nature of your complaint
- Relevant facts and dates
- Names of individuals involved (where applicable)
This allows the company to investigate properly.
Step 2 – Grievance Meeting¶
A grievance meeting will be arranged, normally within a reasonable timeframe after receiving your written grievance.
The meeting may take place remotely by video call.
You have the right to be accompanied by:
- A colleague
- A trade union representative
- A support person
If you or your companion cannot attend at the proposed time, you should inform us as soon as possible so an alternative can be arranged.
If further investigation is needed, the meeting may be adjourned and reconvened.
Following the meeting, you will normally receive a written outcome within a reasonable timeframe, along with details of any action the company intends to take and your right of appeal.
Step 3 – Appeal¶
If you are not satisfied with the grievance outcome, you may appeal in writing within seven days of receiving the decision.
Appeals should be addressed to a company director who has not previously been involved in the matter, where possible.
An appeal meeting will be arranged, normally within a reasonable timeframe. You may again be accompanied by a colleague or trade union representative.
The final decision will be confirmed in writing. There is no further right of appeal.
Confidentiality¶
All grievance matters will be handled sensitively and as confidentially as reasonably possible.
