Natural Disaster & Emergency Policy

FooEngine recognises that natural disasters or serious local emergencies may impact an employee's ability to work or access essential services. The Company's priority in such situations is employee safety.

Natural disasters may include events such as floods, storms, wildfires, earthquakes, severe weather events or other significant local emergencies.

Employee Safety

If you are affected by, or at risk from, a natural disaster or serious emergency:

  • Your personal safety must be your first priority
  • You should follow local authority guidance
  • You should notify your line manager as soon as reasonably possible

No employee will be expected to work if doing so puts their safety at risk.

Work Disruption

Where a natural disaster or emergency impacts your ability to work:

  • Temporary disruption will be handled flexibly
  • Alternative working arrangements may be agreed where possible
  • Time away from work may be treated as paid or unpaid leave depending on circumstances

Each situation will be considered individually, with fairness and compassion.

Support

Where reasonably practicable, FooEngine may consider providing additional support, which could include:

  • Temporary flexible working arrangements
  • Adjusted workloads or deadlines
  • Short-term leave without requiring annual leave

Any additional support will be agreed case-by-case depending on circumstances and business needs.

Communication

Employees affected by an emergency should:

  • Inform their line manager when safe to do so
  • Provide updates where reasonably possible

Managers will maintain appropriate contact while respecting personal circumstances.

No Detriment

Employees will not suffer detriment for being unable to work due to genuine emergency or disaster circumstances.
