Health & Safety Policy¶
FooEngine is a fully remote company. This policy sets out how we meet our health and safety responsibilities to employees working from home or other remote locations.
Your Responsibilities¶
All employees share responsibility for working safely.
You must:
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety
- Maintain a safe and suitable working environment at home or wherever you work
- Follow guidance on safe use of equipment
- Report any health and safety concerns promptly
Failure to follow this policy may be treated as misconduct under the Disciplinary & Capability Procedure.
Home Working Environment¶
Employees are responsible for:
- Having a safe workspace
- Ensuring electrical equipment is used safely
- Keeping walkways free from hazards
- Ensuring adequate lighting and ventilation
Where necessary, guidance on safe home workstation setup will be provided.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE)¶
As a remote-first company, most roles involve significant screen use.
FooEngine will:
- Provide guidance on safe workstation setup
- Offer eyesight tests in line with the Sight Tests Policy
Employees must:
- Take regular screen breaks
- Adjust workstations to avoid strain
- Report any discomfort or health concerns
Work Equipment¶
Company-provided equipment must be used in accordance with instructions.
Any faults or damage to company equipment must be reported promptly. Employees should not attempt repairs unless authorised.
Accidents and Incidents¶
Any accident or injury that occurs while working must be reported to management as soon as possible.
This includes incidents occurring at home during working hours that result in injury or inability to work.
Wellbeing and Fatigue¶
Remote working can blur work-life boundaries. Employees are encouraged to:
- Take regular breaks
- Maintain reasonable working hours
- Raise concerns if workload becomes unsafe or excessive
Training¶
Where required, FooEngine will provide guidance or training to help employees work safely and comfortably in a remote environment.
